I open my eyes
it's a brand new day
Everything's alright

I look in the mirror (am I in a)
nightmare fantasy?
Looking back from what should be my face
is a form - that is not me

You might think I was dreaming
or writing a Halloween play
But this is the life I wake up to
every day

Some say that I'm just pretending (or just)
going through some sort of phase
Some say I'm evil and twisted (and I will)
burn in hell on judgment day

For being ME
Like a rainbow that shines after rain
Like the laughter that comes after pain
If there's one thing that I should believe
I am perfect because I am ME!

But this prisoner behind my eyes
Marvels how those who claim they can see
Would erase me with bigoted lies
And it's simply because I am ME!

it's the same old day (then)
Something is wrong
Society is not okay

hate their own identity
